The modernism came to Reus in the year 1898 when began the construction of the psychiatric institute Pere Mata , one of the largest projects by the architect Lluis Domenech I Montaner. then Domenech went on to design other buildings in Reus like:
 
Pere Mata Institute famous by the ornamental richness of pavilion number 6 very well preserved.
 
The Casa Navàs , a private residence declared a historic monument and open to visitors.
 
The Casa Rull with an elegant balcony with floral patterns on the first floor declared a historic monument too.
 
And Casa Gasull like a fusion of modernist and nineteenth century styles between others.
